Hampton Turns 6 Months!

Okay, we've been horrible in 2008 with a daily blog updates. I promise we'll be better now that we're (hopefully) getting into a rhythm with all the recent changes in the Knight household. To start, Hampton started day care at the Commonwealth Children's Center on January 15. We found out right before Christmas that we finally got into day care and we got into our #1 choice. So, it has been a exciting turn of events as we had three transition days to get Hampton (and ourselves) acclimated to the new routine and people. He seems to do great and we're elated he's in such wonderful hands.

To celebrate Hampton's 6-month birthday on Saturday, January 26 - Hampton ate rice cereal!! Errr...should I say that Hampton dressed himself in rice cereal? I'm not sure how much he actually digested but it was entertaining nonetheless to see our little one lung for the spoon and of course spit it out all over himself.

Each Saturday, we all go to Kindermusik to spend 45-minutes in music class. The theme is "Cockadoodle Moo" and we get to sing and dance to fun songs like "Hey Diddle Diddle" and "Skip to my Lou"...plus there's a Hello song that gets Hampton excited to start the day. We're total nerds but we're having a ball with him.

And, I must say - Hampton's favorite toy is the exersaucer. He'll spend hours bouncing in it if he could. To make it all the more entertaining, he bounces like mad to the Lone Ranger. Priceless.

Hampton is 5 Months

Hampton is five months old now (as of December 26, 2007). He's hit a few milestones this past month as well - rolling over (12/18/07), sitting up unassisted (starting around 4.5 months but now he's going strong), reaching/grabbing things, including Deacon's ears, bouncing in his jumper/exersaucer and gabbing away. He is such a ball! We'll start to introduce food to him at the end of this month. Just when I think he's at the "perfect" stage and I don't want him to grow, he reaches another "stage" that makes him absolutely precious.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It is hard to believe the holiday season came and went. We had a wonderful first Christmas with Hampton. He managed to stack up on presents from Santa - he must have been awfully good this year! My mother, grandma "GiGi" came to visit us as well. Prior to Christmas, we celebrated Eric's 30th birthday. First, Hampton surprised him with Patriots tickets for the December 23 game against the Miami Dolphins. Eric and his father went to cheer on the Pat's while the rest of us stayed home to diligently cook the night away in preparation for Eric's surprise birthday party. On December 24, Eric and I ran some errands bright and early in the morning and came home for a Surprise Birthday brunch. Christmas day we all got up and went for our annual family 4-mile run, ate breakfast and then opened presents! Hampton was quite stimulated with all the activity and now we're back at home with lots of goodies. Here is a picture of Hampton in his glory.
