Yesterday was another uneventful appointment at the doctors. No real "progress" but a little bit of change to give us assurance that eventually we will have a baby. On Tuesday, we have an appointment for a sonogram to ensure the baby remains safe and healthy. On Wednesday, we're tentatively schedule for induction. So...we may be proud parents on Wednesday, July 25!
Today we took advantage of our last weekend as a single couple with our routine 3-mile walk with Deacon along the Boston Harbor. We made a pit stop for banana pancakes at Anthony's in the North End and enjoyed the beautiful morning! I attended my favorite pre-natal yoga class and the instructor, Helene, was giving me tips to help induce labor. During that time, Eric went down the street to a driving range and kept his phone nearby in case I went into labor. Afterward, we ran a few errands and now we're back home relaxing!
So, given that today seems no different than any other day, I'm guessing that our baby is nice and cozy...and in no rush to come play with us any time soon!

Happy Due Date!
Today is our official "due date"! So, I've made it 40-weeks thus far and counting. All is well. Nothing more to report but thank you all for your kind words of support and excitement for us. We'll be sure to share the news of our arrival shortly after the Little One arrives. At least we know that it will be born before August 1.

Less than 2 days!
Now that we're in a 48-hour count down (with an up-to-two-week margin of error), I thought I would let everyone know that I'm feeling great and I'm really NOT a couch potato as the pictures with Deacon seem to indicate. I don't have any ailments worth noting - thankfully no lower back pain or discomfort. I'm still sleeping, working and hitting the gym although not so hard...and, of course, taking advantage of every last opportunity to eat ice cream because that will cease once the baby arrives!
Good luck to everyone who is still in the running guessing when/what/how much I will deliver. I hope my motherly instinct is right that I will deliver on July 21 because it would be quite cool to have my baby's birthday fall right in line with my dad and brother's birthdays! Billy was born on July 22 and my dad was born on July 23. Otherwise, we'll have to delay it until the end of the month so we can share in the thrill of having a birthday at the same time as my dear father-in-law, Ron (born July 31). All that being said, I have definitely decided that I'm having a boy to follow suite with all the fabulous men in my life! Eric is still convinced I'm having a girl. At least one of us will be right!

The Final Countdown
We're four days away from Marin's "due date". Deacon has been all over Marin...I think he knows something's coming (or he just really likes the couch!).

The Nursery
Welcome to our nursery! The nursery was our second floor guest room when we first moved in last summer. During our first days of painting/renovating in the house, we painted the room yellow knowing that when we did have a child this room would likely be the nursery and that we would not be finding out the sex. We debated having the baby's room on the third floor, but figured one less flight of stairs to go up and down would just make our lives that much easier. Eventually, this room will be our master bedroom.

Still to come will be the baby's name spelled out over the crib as well as some window treatments made from the same fabric as the crib bedding that Grandma-to-be Knight is working on with Marin's guidance.
We're hoping that Baby Knight finds his/her bed and room very comfortable so he/she will get lots of sleep!
