Weekends on the Cape

During the renovations, we have been spending the weekdays at the Reilly's in Norwell and the weekends on the Cape. Saturday evening we headed to Hyannisport for dinner and Hampton had a blast running around on the 18th and practice greens. He already enjoys knocking the golf ball around with his toy clubs. Nothing wrong with getting him started early!

Hampton Loves...

Lawnmowers (snow shovels would be a bit more appropriate/helpful for us)...

"nanas" (bananas)...
and Deacon!

Hampton's new word...

Water!

And he's off....

Last night, Hampton stood and clapped and then walked and clapped some more! While his few steps here and there over the past few weeks have been teasers, last night was the real deal...and Hampton was quite impressed with himself! Mom and Dad were especially proud of his big steps too. Of course, our video camera broke (just about one day after the warrantee expired) so we'll have to get it captured on film sooner than later!

Hampton Photos

Last Thursday we took the morning off from work and had some photos of Hampton taken at Jamaica Pond. The photographer is Jacquie Spector, Spector Photography http://www.spectorphotography.com/.
This is Jacquie's third session with Hampton and we think she is great! We've had a session every three months since last July (or thereabouts) and have one last session scheduled around his birthday to have a complete album capturing Hampton's first year.

A Comparison

Hampton at 7 months in the basket

Hampton at 6 weeks in the basket

Hampton is now 7months old. We thought it would be fun to put him back into his Bassinet that Grandma CC made for him. As you can see, he barely fits!

Hampton and Deacon

We plopped Hampton on the bed and Deacon decided to join him for some play time. They were both willing to pose for one picture only.

Hampton's got Deacon's ear in his grasp

I think Deacon just finished licking Hampton in exchange for his ear.

Hampton Meets Santa

It was a big weekend on the Cape - the annual Christmas Stroll on Main Street. It is also part of the Knight's tradition to celebrate Lauren's birthday too. While the weather remained fairly mild, we took advantage of Christmas shopping in Boston on Saturday (yes, Hampton blew out his diaper on Newbury Street) and, Sunday, we geared up for the Stroll. Linda made her famous chili and Lauren had a birthday cake to celebrate turning 27! Hampton did an excellent job meeting Santa. No crying or spit up...just a few smiles for the holly, jolly man! Santa gave him an early Christmas present - a stuffed Bunny!

Two Month Stats

As we said, more pictures are to come. However, the picture of Hampton doing laundry below was taken the day after his 2 month check up and first round of shots.

His two month old stats are:

14lbs. 10oz. (97th percentile)
23.5 inches (78th percentile)

Surprise, surprise.....he's not a small child.

What a time to have your digital camera break...when your first kid is 2 months old! We promise to have more pics, but this one was taken with the camera phone. Here's Hampton helping mom do a little laundry (those are the clean clothes..btw).

6 Weeks!

6 weeks old!

Yesterday was Hampton's 6-week birthday! We had a great day. It was our last day of our class, Great Beginnings, which was a new mom's group that focuses on child development, motherhood and other baby topics (sleeping, feeding, toys). We've enjoyed the six week class making new friends and learning baby games. Hampton is growing so fast - much more alert and starting to reach for things, lifting is head and eating like a champion. Hampton was the youngest in the class. He definitely looks like one of the oldest...especially with all that hair!
Here are some fun pictures from his big day.

Four Weeks Old!

Today is Hampton's one month birthday! We have had so much fun with him as we continue to get to know him and learn his every move. Eric started his new job at Ciber last week so he had two full weeks of daddy time with Hampton. And, I'm taking a three-month maternity leave so each day I learn something new about raising an infant. Deacon is also acclimated to our newest family member. However, if you come visit, he may jump on you or bring a toy to you...he still loves attention!!

Lauren Wins

Eric's sister, Lauren, wins the pool with the closest guess.

Lauren's Guess: 8lb 9oz boy born on July 25th
Actual: 8lb 7oz boy born on July 26th
She was only 1hr 52min and 2oz away from being spot on.

We have no idea what she won...Grandpa Knight is still figuring this out.

More Pics of HHK II

We're still in the hospital and everything is going very well. The nurses at Brigham and Women's Hospital are very helpful have treated us all like royalty, but we are still very excited about bringing Hampton home.

We had lots of visitor's yesterday including Eric's Aunt Jeannette, Uncle Mac and Cousin Madison. Mac took a few pictures and sent them to us today. More to come once we get everything uploaded.
Here is a link to the photo from the hospital photographer.

Jeanette and Madison spend some time with the newest member of the Knight Family.

Hale Hampton Knight II

Our sweet baby has arrived - Hale Hampton Knight II, named after Eric's grandfather, joined our family at 1:51 am today, July 26. Hampton was 8 pounds, 7 ounces and 20.5" long. We are definitely on cloud nine and elated to have such a beautiful son. More pictures to come but we've included a sneak preview.

Thank you all for your love and support. We could not be any happier and thankful for a healthy, happy baby and a quick and easy delivery!
